I’m Richard Zamora, an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor at Eureka Center for Psychotherapy. I work with adults and couples around anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity, relationships, and the pressures that can come with trying to stay capable and connected while carrying a great deal internally.
My approach is relational and somatically oriented, informed by attachment theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I’m interested in how our experiences take shape not only in the stories we tell ourselves, but in the body — in tension, urgency, shutting down, pulling away, or feeling disconnected from ourselves and other people. Therapy gives us room to slow those responses down, understand what they have been doing for us, and find ways of responding that feel more aligned with our values and the lives we want to build.
I work with many LGBTQ+ adults and couples, people in helping or high-responsibility roles, and people exploring questions of culture, identity, family, and belonging. For some, the work includes making sense of early family experiences. For others, it means creating relationships, chosen family, and ways of living that feel more fitting than the expectations they inherited.
I bring both clinical training and lived experience to this work, with attention to culture and the larger conditions that shape our lives. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish and welcome the opportunity to work in the language that feels most natural for exploring emotion, identity, and family relationships.

The ways we learned to get through difficult things can be understood with compassion — and changed when they no longer fit the life we want.
