I’m Erik Karff, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Eureka Center for Psychotherapy. My work is relational and depth-oriented, with particular attention to anxiety, self-criticism, grief, attachment, identity, and the patterns that shape how we experience ourselves and our relationships.
I work with adults and couples who may be highly capable in many parts of their lives yet find themselves confronting problems that competence alone has not resolved. Anxiety can become harder to contain. Relationships can settle into familiar cycles of conflict or distance. Achievement may coexist with loneliness, dissatisfaction, or a sense that something important has gone missing.
My approach draws from psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy, attachment theory, somatic work, mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I’m interested in understanding both where a pattern comes from and how it operates in the present — in relationships, in the body, and in the therapy itself. The aim is not insight for its own sake, but greater freedom in how you respond, relate, and live.
My practice has long included LGBTQ+ adults and relationships, including gay and bisexual men, queer couples, polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, and people whose lives or relationships have not always fit comfortably within conventional expectations.
I founded Eureka out of a conviction that thoughtful clinical work is strengthened by community. Part of building the practice has been an effort to widen the net of support — for the people who come here for therapy and for the clinicians doing the work.

I believe that when the right conditions become available we grow and become increasingly connected
Erik karff, ma, lmft
I partner with men navigating the pressures of self-reliance, performance, emotional restraint, and expectations about what it means to be a man — making room for greater intimacy, emotional range, and a version of masculinity that feels more their own.
I provide an affirming space to navigate the tumult of dating, sex, community, and connection while developing a deeper sense of identity, belonging, and place.
I work with people who overthink interactions, fear being judged, or feel outside the group even when other people are around — helping connection feel less effortful and a sense of belonging more possible.

Attachment & Relationships
We know that Grief can unsettle identity, relationships, and the shape of everyday life. I acompany people as they find their footing in a world that has changed.
I work with people when high standards, achievement, and self-reliance have become exhausting or too closely tied to self-worth — helping loosen the pressure without asking them to give up ambition or what matters to them.
I support people repeating familiar patterns of closeness, distance, conflict, or self-protection — making room for greater intimacy, flexibility, and change.
